Triform is looking for a Day Habilitation Assistant

Full-Time Position

$18-$20 Pay range

Hours: Mo-Fr 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM

The organization: Located in Livingston, NY, Triform Camphill Community was founded in 1979 with the mission of building a vital community life together with young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Triform bases its work on the recognition of the spiritual integrity of the individual regardless of ability and aims to provide dignified, meaningful learning areas, a healthy social atmosphere, and a vital cultural, artistic, and spiritual life.

This is a full-time, indoor, and land-based role that involves close collaboration within a vibrant and dynamic environment. The Day Hab Assistant should be comfortable working in all weather conditions—including heat, cold, rain, and snow—and in proximity to both livestock and household pets.

Responsibilities:

·         Collaborate with the Day Hab Program Coordinator on the planning and execution of daily schedules.

·         Assist participants in achieving goals outlined in their Staff Action Plans.

·         Support the development of participants' social and emotional skills in group settings.

·         Promote participant independence while assisting with projects and tasks, which may include strategies such as hand-over-hand support, redirection, modeling, encouragement, role-playing, etc.

·         Provide attentive care and assistance with activities of daily living for a small group of individuals.

·         Maintain cleanliness and organization of classrooms and work areas throughout the day and after program hours.

·         Contribute to required documentation, including daily billing, monthly summary reports, and other reports as assigned.

·         Drive program participants for daily transportation needs.

·         Stay current with first-aid procedures, emergency response protocols, and all mandatory training sessions as required.

·         Attend Life Plan meetings as needed to ensure integrated support across services.

·         Support participants in Triform’s spiritual festivals.

 

Requirements:

·         Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities

·         Must be 21 years of age

·         Valid driver's license

·         High school diploma

·         Understanding and support of the community’s mission

·         Sound social and communication skills

·         Mature interpersonal and teamwork skills
